David Bacani is a utility infielder who plays in the Boston Red Sox organization. Bacani plays shortstop, second base, and third base, and has also been used sparingly as a relief pitcher. He was born on July 30, 1979 in Long Beach, California. He is 5'7", weighs 170 pounds, and both throws and bats right-handed.

Bacani attended Los Alamitos High School and California State University, Fullerton before being selected by the New York Mets in the 22nd round (672nd overall) of the 2001 amateur draft.

He began his professional career in 2001 playing for the Kingsport Mets of the Appalachian League and the Brooklyn Cyclones of the New York-Penn League. In 2002, Bacani was promoted to the Low-A Capital City Bombers where he played a full season. The next season, 2003, Bacani split time between the High-A St. Lucie Mets of the Florida State League and AA Binghamton Mets of the Eastern League. In 2004 and 2005, Bacani spent time in both AA Binghamton and the AAA Norfolk Tides.

David Bacani represented the Binghamton Mets in the 2004 and 2005 Eastern League all-star game.

In 336 games in his 4-year minor league career between 2001 and 2004, Bacani has a .280 batting average with a .376 slugging percentage. He has 9 home runs and 120 runs batted in to go with 46 stolen bases and 146 runs scored.

He was selected by the Boston Red Sox in the AAA phase of the 2005 Rule 5 Draft.

In 2007 and 2008 he played for the Orange County Flyers. Both seasons he represented the Flyers in the Golden Baseball league all-star game.

In 2008, Bacani served as the assistant coach at Concordia University in Irvine. His coaching career also includes coaching at the high school level as an assistant baseball coach at JSerra Catholic High School and Orange Lutheran High School.

2009 David was an assistant coach and player for the Orange county flyers.

David Bacani was hired as the Santa Margarita Catholic High School Head Coach in 2009.

Dave Bacani was hired as the Serra Catholic School P.E. Instructor in 2010.
